Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Faces ‘Very Serious Shooting Threat,’ Blames Democrats’ Violent Rhetoric
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) revealed on Wednesday that her office had received a “very serious shooting threat,” which she attributes to increasingly hostile rhetoric from the Democratic Party. Luna claims that the Democrats’ “division and hate campaign” against Republicans is fueling violent threats, citing the recent assassination attempt against GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump as an example.
While Luna did not disclose the exact details of the threat, she made it clear that she would not back down, stating on X, “I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda.”
This shooting threat comes shortly after Luna had been doxxed online, with personal information about her and her family being spread on social media. Luna alleges that her Democratic opponent, Whitney Fox, allowed her supporters to use the comment section of her campaign’s page to dox her, resulting in an increase in threats.
In addition to the shooting threat, Luna reported receiving threatening packages at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida. She linked these threats to recent Democratic accusations that label Republicans as “threats to democracy,” a tactic she believes is inciting violence.
Luna called for prayers for her family and continued to emphasize the dangers of political rhetoric. Law enforcement is investigating the threats, and Luna’s office has pledged to provide updates as they become available.
