Social Media Unearths Democrats’ Hypocrisy Over Trump ‘Bloodbath’ Hoax
After the Biden campaign, prominent Democrats and the mainstream media began pushing a blatant lie about former president and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s recent comments about an economic “bloodbath,” sleuths on social media were quick to point out a myriad of times that the left used the same terminology.
At an Ohio rally on Saturday night, Trump predicted a “bloodbath” in the U.S. auto industry if he is not reelected to fix the problems and President Joe Biden continues to allow China to overtake the U.S. in auto manufacturing.
“If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal,” Trump said. “Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now … you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no. We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected.”
“Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it … It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it,” Trump added. “But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories.”
The left immediately pounced on these comments, focusing solely on the “bloodbath” remark and purposely removing the context of the auto industry.
It is clear what Trump meant by his comments, and the dictionary definition of “bloodbath” from Merriam-Webster shows that the term can mean “a major economic disaster.”
Meanwhile, social media users quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out the blatant hypocrisy — finding several instances of the mainstream media, Biden and other Democrats using the term “bloodbath.”
“Biden THREATENED Bernie Sanders with a ‘BLOODBATH’ in the 2020 Primary. This is disqualifying and terrifying,” popular X user ALX wrote, sharing a headline from far-left outlet The Guardian published during the 2020 Democrat primary, which read: “Biden warns against primary bloodbath as Sanders sharpens attacks ahead of key contests.”
ALX also shared an article from Politico using the word “bloodbath,” even linking to the outlet’s original tweet about the story in 2014.
“Newly unearthed post from @politico shows they encouraged Democrats to enact a ‘BLOODBATH’ in the Capitol after losing elections. Pretty sure this means they have to be shut down for our Democracy or something,” he wrote.
The headline stated: “Democrats got pummeled last week at the ballot box. Next up: their bloodbath in the Capitol.”
Anarchist author Michael Malice joined in on the sleuthing, finding several articles using the term from the same mainstream media outlets that have been lying about Trump’s comments.
“Still here Barack? Now Obama says Europe will be ‘bloodbath’ if EU breaks up,” one headline read.
“Bloodbath looms as Senator Elizabeth Warren starts crowded Democratic race to oust Trump,” another headline read.
Simon Ateba, chief White House correspondent for Today News Africa, shared a news clip of a reporter discussing the potential “bloodbath” at the ballot box between Biden and then-Democrat presidential candidate, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
