Mass Shootings Sweep Democrat-Run Cities Over Labor Day Weekend
Over Labor Day weekend, at least 11 mass shootings occurred across the country in mostly Democrat-run cities across the country, leaving at least 15 people dead, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive — which identifies a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people were shot or killed, excluding the shooter.
Labor Day weekend’s deadliest mass shooting so far occurred on September 5 in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota — represented by Mayor Melvin Carter III (D) — in which three people died and two others were injured.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, another mass shooting happened in Philadelphia over the weekend. In the shooting, which also occurred on September 5, two people were killed and three were injured.
In Philadelphia over the weekend — as far as gun violence that did not qualify as mass shootings — the city saw nine people killed and an additional 19 injured, according to reporting from Metro Philadelphia.
Under the failed leadership of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), a total of 55 people were shot, 11 of whom were killed, during Labor Day weekend. These shootings include one mass shooting in which four young men were killed outside of a home on September 4, as reported by ABC 7.
The Democrat mayor of Charleston, John Tecklenburg, blamed “illegal guns” and “repeat offenders” for the shooting of a 13-year-old that occurred in his city on September 4, and a mass shooting that happened just a few hours later that injured five people in downtown Charleston, according to Live 5 News WCSC.
“But the hard truth is this: In South Carolina, only the state legislature has the authority to reform our laws with regard to illegal guns and repeat violent offenders. As a city, we’re literally prohibited from taking action in either area,” Tecklenburg claimed, according to the outlet.
