The FBI’s frantic search for domestic extremism took an interesting turn Monday when a cache of documents was released through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The materials, obtained by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, revealed many common terms the agency red flags for closer scrutiny. The slang is supposed to be indicative of “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism” or “involuntary celibate violent extremism.”

The project posted that the documents showed how the FBI “equates protected online speech to violence.” Terms that raised warning signals included “based” or “red-pilled,” which are supposedly signs of racist extremism.

“Red-pilled” is based on the 1999 movie “The Matrix.” It is just one of a multitude of words that the agency believes to be code used by violent individuals and groups.

The word “cell” is, according to the FBI, code for “incel,” which is short for “involuntary celibate.” This is a classification of men posting online who believe they are unable to have a romantic relationship.

The “threat overview” describes these “incels” as having a high probability to “commit violence in support of their beliefs that society unjustly denies them … romantic attention, to which they believe they are entitled.”

Members of that community are also credited with such terms as “Chad” and “Stacey.” The FBI designates “Chad” as a “race-specific term used to describe an idealized version of a male who is successful at gaining…romantic attention from women.”

The female version is “Stacey.”

Another term under fire from the FBI is “looksmaxxing.” This is defined by the agency as an individual attempting to improve themselves to become more attractive.

As for “red pill,” the term is noted by Fox News as a “metaphor for seeing hidden or politically incorrect truths about the modern world.”

The FBI, however, defines “red pill” as a shared belief that society is corrupt and the individual “is a victim of this corruption.” It has an alternative explanation for the term as it refers to racial ideology.

According to the report, becoming “red-pilled” may mean that a person has accepted racist, anti-Semitic or fascist beliefs.

Another slang word listed by the FBI is “LARPing.” This is “live action role-playing” in geek culture, but to the agency it may be picturing the U.S. as a dictatorship or monarchy.

These are strange days at the once-proud bureau. Trump’s call to defund the agency finds justification in their daily activities.
