The partisan prosecution of former President Joe Biden by the corrupt Biden administration is now proven to be even more partisan, according to records obtained from the Federal Election Commission (FEC). And Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is demanding answers from the Attorney General.

Documents show that Karen E. Gilbert, a lead prosecutor with Special Counsel Jack E. Smith’s investigation, was a campaign contributor to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and the Democratic National Committee.

Gaetz immediately demanded an explanation from AG Merrick Garland on the partisan background of the prosecutor. He also asked for a complete roster of staff working for Smith.

According to FEC records, Gilbert contributed $1,000 to Biden in the 2019-2020 election cycle in addition to $250 to the Biden Action Fund.

She also sent $500 to the Democratic National Committee in 2013, $800 to Obama in the 2011-12 cycle, and $1250 to Obama in 2007-08.

The representative reminded the AG that Gilbert resigned from her job as head of the narcotics section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida in 2009. This came on the heels of misconduct allegations and resulted in an apology from the DOJ.

In his letter, Gaetz declared that Smith’s work was “both highly irregular and of extraordinary public concern.” The representative specifically flagged how his office that is leading the Trump investigation is structured.

He gave Garland through July 7 to hand over staff rosters, phone lists, and related records from the Department of Justice covering those employed by the office of the Special Counsel.

Gaetz insisted that there should be no debate on whether such information should be made public. He said something as simple as a staff list must not be withheld from Congress over a supposed privacy concern.

The Republican did not hide his contempt for recent DOJ actions. He took agency officials to task for not properly vetting their personnel and suggested that, far from oversight, prosecutors may be sought for the very same reasons they should have been excluded — partisanship.

He then mentioned that the 118th Congress holds the purse strings for the DOJ and all federal agencies.

Gaetz is not alone in his disdain for the weaponized DOJ. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) revealed Monday her intention to introduce legislation to strip funding away from Smith’s office and his probe into Trump.
