Climate change alarmism reached new heights Thursday when United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that the old “global warming” designation is done.

Speaking to a press conference, Guterres said the new term is “global boiling.” It wasn’t that long ago when global warming was replaced by “climate change,” but apparently it made a comeback.

The secretary-general told the gathering that “humanity is in the hot seat. For vast parts of North America, Asia, Africa and Europe, it is a cruel summer.” He went on to assert that scientists nearly unanimously blame human actions for the temperatures.

Guterres further claimed that the science is settled — meaning there is no more discussion.

He continued, “All this is entirely consistent with predictions and repeated warnings. The only surprise is the speed of the change. Climate change is here, it is terrifying and it is just the beginning.”

Alarmist climate rhetoric in years past included “global warming,” “climate change” and “extreme weather.” Apparently now the public must get accustomed to global boiling, at least until winter.

As the Daily Wire noted, Guterres is a former president of Socialist International. As such, he is firmly in the camp that humanity may only be saved by the upper crust and global government organizations.

It is not surprising to most that July is hot, it is traditionally one of the hottest months of the year. But to the U.N., this is a sign of the climate apocalypse.

The U.N. head, speaking in New York, warned of a world that sees “children swept away by monsoon rains, families running from the flames [and] workers collapsing in scorching heat.”

Short of a “mini-Ice Age,” he predicted that July will be the hottest month on record around the globe.

On Thursday, he said that it is still possible to thwart a massive rise in global temperature and avoid the worst of climate change. That, he asserted, will only occur through “dramatic, immediate climate action.”

And while he said that some progress is observable, it is nowhere near going far enough at a fast enough speed. To go along with his “global boiling” sound bite, he declared that “accelerated temperatures demand accelerated action.”
