A new poll has uncovered a surprising trend — Americans are becoming more conservative, with the number of Americans identifying as “social conservatives” reaching its highest point in more than a decade.

The Gallup poll revealed that 38% of Americans identify as socially conservative — which is an increase of five percentage points from 2022, where 33% identified as social conservatives. This is the highest this statistic has been since 2012. The same poll revealed that the number of Americans who identify as “socially liberal” fell four percentage points since last year, with only 29% of respondents describing themselves as “socially liberal.”

In the summary of its findings, Gallup explained: “For most of the past eight years, Americans were about as likely to say they were liberal as conservative on social issues. This year, there is a more obvious conservative advantage.”

“Greater social conservatism may be fostering an environment more favorable to passing conservative-leaning social legislation, especially in Republican-dominated states,” Gallup added.

There are likely several reasons for this, the most prominent of which is the fact that the left has been pushing an increasingly radical agenda — including their continued push for the normalization of radical gender ideology.

After many parents across the country began realizing the extent of leftist indoctrination in schools during the COVID pandemic when their children were learning from home, the anger led to widespread protests at school board meetings across the country.

The anger has recently spread to boycotts of companies pushing the left’s radical agenda, with companies like Bud Light and Target receiving backlash from average Americans for their celebration of transgenderism and the LGBT agenda. While the left has claimed that the backlash is only coming from politically active conservatives, evidence has indicated that average, non-politically active, Americans have also taken part in the boycotts.

Meanwhile, another possible reason for the increase in Americans identifying as socially conservative is the fact that conservatives have more children than liberals. While the left tries to circumvent this fact by indoctrinating their values and policy positions into children in schools, it has not been completely successful — especially as many parents have turned to homeschooling. Journalist and podcast host Tim Pool discussed this point in a recent video about the Gallup poll:
