Supporters of former President Donald Trump should never be surprised again by the incredible lengths Democrats will go to derail their candidate’s march back to the White House. Still, the audacity of U.S. Judge Tanya S. Chutkan has many recoiling in shock.

On Monday, the Washington D.C. jurist set Trump’s trial date in the district for March 4, 2024. That coincidentally or not happens to fall exactly one day before the critical Super Tuesday primaries.

Even as Trump attorney John Lauro strongly protested, Chutkan ruled the six-month period was “far beyond what is necessary” to prepare the former president to fight against charges from a weaponized federal government.

If this is not the definition of election interference, that term is undefinable. Trump is also the defendant in three civil trials that are expected to commence in coming months.

According to Politico, the sweeping prosecutions of Trump all but guarantee that he will spend the critical primary season largely in courtrooms. The outlet noted that, besides the March 4 date, he is scheduled to be before a New York jury on March 25.

He is also scheduled for trial in Florida on May 20 and still awaits a trial date in the Georgia indictments.

Prosecutors have reportedly turned over an astounding 12.8 million pages of files to Trump’s legal team. That’s on top of 250 government witnesses who are expected to be dragged before the court.

This begs the question of exactly how attorneys may be expected to prepare for these cases in a mere six months. As many have noted, the process is the punishment.

None of this mattered to Chutkan, who was supposedly chosen at random. She is notorious for bringing the judicial hammer down on Jan. 6 protesters, sentencing them to serve time exceeding recommendations by prosecutors.

When Trump’s lawyers asked for more time to prepare, Chutkan pushed back. “Mr. Trump will have to make the trial date work, regardless of his schedule.”

The former president rightly pleaded not guilty in all four pending criminal cases against him. But the pattern is crystal clear — Democrats will stop at nothing to get him out of the race for the White House, even if it means weaponizing the entire judicial system.
