Ever-defiant former President Donald Trump told an enthusiastic crowd at the North Carolina Republican Party convention Saturday that he will defeat the “globalist vultures in the Washington swamp” once again.

This proclamation came after he addressed the Georgia GOP convention. The two gatherings saw Trump’s first public remarks since he was indicted by federal prosecutors last week.

The indictment, which concerned the handling of classified documents by the former president at his Florida home, was unsealed Friday afternoon.

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation led to the second indictment of Trump this year. The first concerned business records and was brought by radical leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump was completely undeterred Saturday as he addressed the Republican faithful over the “witch hunt” that has dogged him. He called the charges “election interference” as he is the current frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

The former president told the receptive audience that he will never back down and needs their support to “take back our country from these fascists and thugs.”

As he noted, “they’ve launched one hoax and witch hunt after another to try to stop our movement and thwart the will of the American People.”

Trump also blasted President Joe Biden for allowing millions of illegal aliens to enter the country and crush jobs and wages for U.S. citizens.

He cited data that showed the typical American family has lost over $7,400 in purchasing power since Biden was sworn in. He said that the priority for the next president is to “reverse Biden’s economic horror show” and restore the economy.

Trump said his administration rebuilt the U.S. economically and “we will do it once again.”

He told the North Carolina convention that he pulled the nation out of both NAFTA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The candidate noted that Canada and Mexico are now attempting to renegotiate the U.S.M.C.A., which replaced NAFTA, because it is so favorable to the U.S.

Trump further pointed towards his tough stance on China, saying that his leadership brought hundreds of billions of dollars from the communist country into the U.S treasury.

And as Beijing targeted American farmers, he provided $28 billion to boost agriculture from tariffs imposed on China. Trump restated his pledge to defeat the Washington swamp before adding, “and we are going to win.”
