Outrage over the latest round of Democratic indictments of former President Donald Trump continues to pour in. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) added his voice to the chorus of protest Tuesday evening on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

The host noted that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis signaled she will demand “higher bonds” and “mugshots” when processing the 2024 Republican frontrunner and his associates.

Hawley in no uncertain terms blasted the Georgia indictments as “the latest effort to keep the ruling party in power.” Further, it signaled the Democratic Party at all levels of government will “make sure that anyone who criticizes them gets indicted.”

The Missouri Republican noted that Democrats also target pro-lifers, Catholics and parents concerned over their children’s education.

Hawley said this weaponization of the federal government against conservatives is unprecedented. And it has all emerged in the last two years.

The common thread, he asserted, is the persecution of those who challenge the “ruling elites.”

He said the action by the Georgia grand jury Monday evening may deter others from entering government service. After all, who wants to run the risk of indictment for simply questioning the results of a controversial election?

Hawley said the Democratic establishment is sending a clear message to any and all opponents. “Don’t mess with us. Why are they going after Trump? Because he messed with them. He challenged them across the board.”

The deep state is warning Americans to not challenge them and do not work for anyone who will, according to the senator. If you vote for Donald Trump or anybody like him, “we’ll treat you as a domestic terrorist.”

The cautionary tale could not be more clear. Hawley believes that if Democrats are allowed to succeed with their takedown of Trump, “This isn’t the United States anymore.” He added that our constitutional democracy will cease to exist.

The Georgia persecution came in a 41-count indictment that named the former president and 18 of his associates. Each faces charges of racketeering as well as several conspiracy counts thrown in.

If convinced on the RICO charge, Trump will face five to 20 years in prison as well as a fine. At his age, Democrats well know they are targeting him with a life sentence.
