The controversial ouster of founder James O’Keefe from Project Veritas took a dramatic turn this week when the company’s forensic audit was completed. The board initiated the audit after various accusations against its founder were made.

Now Project Veritas CEO Hannah Giles is digging in her heels and refusing to release the findings. She was confronted by citizen journalist SageOps and refused to comment.

Officials claimed in a leaked audio of a board meeting that they were “vindicated” but chose to keep the results out of the public eye.

The audio reportedly revealed member Joe Barton speaking of the board’s decision to withhold the audit results. “The board decided not to release that. No one’s going to see that except for the board for reasons that do not have to be disclosed.”

Project Veritas was well known for undercover investigative journalism that exposed wrongdoing and hypocrisy from leftist leaders and organizations. As such, O’Keefe’s former group was relentlessly attacked in the mainstream press for its regular exposures of leftist practices.

Shock waves went through conservative circles earlier this year when the group’s board voted to forcefully remove O’Keefe. He very publicly denied the allegations though admitting that he has not “always been a compassionate leader.”

O’Keefe told his former staff in a video that he did not know “why this has happened now or why this is happening suddenly right now.” He speculated that the cause may be traced to the biggest story in the company’s history.

In January, not long before his ouster, Project Veritas exposed a video of a man identified as Pfizer director of research and development Jordon Trishton Walker.

He told an undercover journalist that the company was looking at ways to “mutate” the COVID-19 virus through “directed evolution.” This sparked global attention and tallied 50 million views on social media.

Within a few days, the move to push O’Keefe out of Project Veritas began.

He has since landed on his feet with the new O’Keefe Media Group.

His previous company took in as much as $20 million in revenue, but that was before its ill-conceived booting of its founder and star to the curb. Reports recently swirled that Giles was forced by economic issues to fire most of the remaining staff.

There have also been multiple reports that employees complained about leadership under her regime.
